Simon Cowell to release charity single for Grenfell Tower fire victims
He revealed that One Direction star Liam Payne, Louisa Johnson, James Arthur, Emeli Sande, Craig David, urban grime artists Stormzy and Skepta, and The Who will collaborate on the track with more artists to be confirmed.
Hours after the awful news broke, record company boss and BGT boss Simon announced plans t reel a song to raise money for the victims by releasing a cover of Simon & Garfunkel hit Bridge Over Troubled Water by enlisting the help of a host of stars. From Harry Styles' acclaimed debut solo album to recent efforts from the likes of Liam, Niall, Zayn and Louis, One Direction is still all over the charts like always.
"As Simon Cowell gathers singers and musicians together to record a charity single for the victims of the fire, The Who have agreed to be participants".
"If all four [One Direction] came on board, it would be as solo acts as Liam has to record in the USA", a source also told The Sun.
That's when I thought, I'm not just going to sit here and do nothing.
Cowell told Good Morning Britain that he had made a decision to do the single after believing it would be "appalling", in his position, not to help.
"If all four [One Direction] came on board, it would be as solo acts as Liam has to record in the U.S., ' a source told The Sun". We started 24 hours ago and already we're getting calls coming in, mainly from Brits. He told The Sun: "I drove up very near it, because you can't get too close, but when you see it first hand it really does it hit you which is one of the reasons why I wanted to do this so quickly".
Once again proving her awesomeness.
"I think the thing that really hit home to me was seeing that wall with all those messages written on, and then how residents turned up with water and clothes".
Many celebrities have done work on the ground too, with Rita Ora spotted at the site handing out provisions and Adele also spotted down at Grenfell with her husband.
Paloma Faith blasted the Government for not doing enough to help victims.
"It sent chills through me", he said.
Hopefully this single will help add a little more to the much-needed pot.
