Mike Pence reportedly hires private attorney to help with Russian Federation probe

Pence offers prayers for Scalise praise for police officers

President Trump already has his own lawyer, New York-based litigator Marc Kasowitz.

The lawyer, Richard Cullen, is a former Virginia attorney general and a former United States attorney for the eastern district of Virginia.

Vice President #Mike Pence has hired his private lawyer for legal assistance [VIDEO] and investigations into Russia's role in the USA elections 2016 and the contacts of Trump's campaign headquarters with the Russian side.

Cullen's fees will not be paid for with taxpayer dollars, according to Agen.

Pence said in early June that he did not think an independent prosecutor was necessary to investigate potential collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government. Trump said, in an early morning tweet.

The investigation is also looking into whether or not the Trump campaign colluded with Moscow. In January, he stated on TV that Michael Flynn, Trump's former national security adviser, had never maintained contact with Russian officials-only to be corrected two weeks later by a Washington Post report. But Trump later said he was going to fire Comey regardless of the recommendation. Others pointed out that forming the PAC could be a sign of Pence's intent to run for higher office.

The White House didn't immediately deny that notion but made clear that Ruddy was not speaking for Trump.

Special counsel Robert Mueller and several congressional committees are investigating possible ties between the Trump campaign and suspected Russian efforts to sway the election in Trump's favor. They will be National Security Agency Director Mike Rogers, Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats, and retired deputy NSA director Richard Ledgett.

The emergence of the obstruction of justice inquiry may make it harder for Trump to have Mueller removed.

"I served with many of these congressmen, they're my friends, including Rep. Steve Scalise, who is seriously wounded - but I can say with confidence that he continues to receive the best possible medical care".

Putin also echoed Trump's criticism of Comey, saying it was " very strange" for a former Federal Bureau of Investigation chief to leak details of his conversations with the US president to the media through a friend.

Mark Corallo, a spokesman for the outside counsel, did not respond to an email and phone call seeking comment on the questions Sanders referred to him.

Later in the day, Trump accused investigators and detractors of operating under a double standard.
