Magic Johnson has awesome timing with tweet after Paul George report

NBA: Paul George's Future — Was Larry Bird Leaving Pacers a Clue?

This could really shake up the landscape of the NBA and influence what happens in this week's NBA Draft.

Paul George is committed to playing for the Indiana Pacers next season.

Sources: All-Star Paul George tells Pacers he plans to leave franchise in 2018 free agency, prefers Lakers.

The 27-year-old, who is a California native, can sign a four-year, $130 million free-agent deal with Los Angeles next summer. That was the report from The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski on Sunday afternoon that sent the National Basketball Association world into a frenzy. They're holding the cards, but also face the biggest predicament. They would have to fill out the roster with players on minimum contracts or trade one (or two) of their young talents for multiple players in return, but Los Angeles would get the star forward it needs to help bring the Lakers back to showtime prominence.

A wild weekend that began with rumors of a trade at the top of the draft, which materialized in the blink of an eye, has just been bookended by a potential league-altering leak: Paul George wants the Hollywood treatment. Since the start of their tenure, they've said they have felt the tide turning. He could make more by staying in IN with the Pacers able to offer him one more year on a contract. The current CBA makes that contract only available to George under a narrow set of circumstances, and only from the Pacers.

Despite these rumors, George doesn't hit the market until the end of the 2017-2018 season.

"His mind is in the right place in terms of the type of players I want to play with and be around", George said of his meeting with Pritchard.
