Hot and humid in Houston thru at least Tuesday

If storms develop, they will have the potential to be strong with heavy rain and gusty winds.

Bands of showers and thunderstorms moved through Friday afternoon and later in the evening, bringing down some trees and causing flooding. But, redevelopment of storms is already occurring in eastern Oklahoma, and so addition rain and storms will be possible in parts of Northwest Arkansas, and especially in the River Valley, by this afternoon.

Following the rain this morning, a cold front will push through the state sparking off more storms.

Severe Weather Team 2 is watching two areas for tropical development, one unusually early in the central Atlantic and another in the northwest Caribbean.

The big weather story is the major cool down for today after a week straight of highs in the 90s, today we'll be in the low 80s. That front will stall to our east and start to wash out along the coast by Tuesday, so a shower or storm will still be possible. The high temperature in the Triangle reached 86 on Saturday and the Sandhills warmed to 88. Dry weather will continue for most of the state on Tuesday with temperatures inching upward into the 90s. High: Mid-upper 60s. Either way, next week's rain chances from mid-week on are highly dependent on the future of this system. More sun by afternoon.

Thursday will be mostly sunny with a very small chance of a PM shower or storm.
