The event was extremely well received by the large number of Yoga follower community in Wenzhou, and was supported by the India China Economic Culture Center of Wenzhou.

"So, what you will see during this week is this day being celebrated in similar gatherings in every country in the world", Sarna said, adding it is a very moving sight to see so many people in the heart of Washington early on a Saturday morning coming to celebrate yoga, and ready to perform this wonderful session.


Hundreds of yoga enthusiasts gathered today at the historic National Mall here to observe the third International Yoga Day by flexing their bodies in various postures.

Prime Minister Modi will take part in the Yoga Day function in Uttar Pradesh's capital Lucknow, where AYUSH Minister Shripad Naik would also be present.

Speaking at the ceremony, Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Parvathaneni Harish said that Yoga has been even more popular worldwide since the United Nations General Assembly chose June 21 as the International Yoga Day following the proposal of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It has written letters to different Ambassadors and Embassies and urged to make the event successful.
