Nintendo Switch and Mario Take E3 by Storm

Nintendo only revealed the logo of the game, and Fils-Aime said that it will be released when the install base for the Nintendo Switch is significantly higher than current levels.

The Metroid series is one of the early video games franchises released and developed by Nintendo.

Speaking with IGN at the E3 2017, the Nintendo of America's president revealed that the company is considering bringing other Wii U titles to the Switch to let the development teams showcase their content to a wider base. Those include voice chat, but also entertainment services like Netflix and Amazon Prime, which he said Nintendo "recognizes are important for a device you can take with you". Nintendo has already done voice chat on previous consoles.

"And by doing that we go down a path that makes our IP much more accessible".

Ever since Nintendo fully unveiled the Switch back in January, consumers have been asking about the console's online services and functionality.

While Fils-Aime does reiterate the point devs have heard from the company for some time - that mobile games featuring Nintendo characters are meant to encourage people to buy Nintendo games on Nintendo consoles - he also points out that mobile devices can popularize Nintendo products in regions where consoles aren't commercially viable. Nintendo's online services for its past hardware are usually free, but with the Switch, the company now believes that it can charge customers like its rivals, Sony and Microsoft.

Nintendo carefully considers a lot of factors before it makes an announcement. "And we pride ourselves". It allows us to create really fun games that families can enjoy that are family safe. We need to get our digital environment world class. Nintendo says that the app is connecting to the Nintendo Switch in the app description.

KitGuru Says: I'm having a hard time keeping level headed as on one hand prayers have been answered but on the other, we don't know enough to get excited. To the question why Nintendo requires a smartphone up for voice chat on the Nintendo Switch Fils-Aime said: "We actually think that the phone is going to deliver a better, more robust execution". However, whether or not changes will be made accordingly, remains to be seen.
